#stampinup Today’s entry in the series of “my favorite convention swap cards” was designed by the super talented Mindy Backes (Minders). I’ve loved Mindy’s work for a long time. Her cards are clean and simple, with a little whimsy. The card she made for the “Conventional Quality Swap” is no exception. You can check out more of Mindy’s work on her blog: Bada-Bing! Paper-Crafting.
Mindy used a Lost Lagoon card base and added a Whisper White mat. She embossed a Delightful Dijon mat with the Boho Chic Embossing Folder. She added a Tea Lace Paper Doily, cut in half
to the top half of the card and added a strip of Lost Lagoon card stock, stamped in Lost Lagoon with the “Dotty Angles” stamp set.
Mindy stamped two sentiments from the “Endless Thanks” photopolymer stamp set onto a Whisper White flag. “Thankful” is stamped in Delightful Dijon and “for your kindness” is stamped in Lost Lagoon. Stampin’ Up’s see-through photopolymer stamps make it so easy to line up two (or more) stamps like this.
Finally, Mindy stamped two butterflies in Pumpkin Pie from the “Kinda Eclectic” set and punched them out with the coordinating Bitty Butterfly and Elegant Butterfly Punches. She adhered these to each other and then to the card. To complete her design, Mindy added a row of small Basic Rhinestones.
Isn’t this card the cutest? And don’t you love this color combination? I don’t think I’d have come up with it on my own–but it’s one I’m going to try soon!
