#stampinup A wonderful woman at my church had a birthday last week–and I completely forgot to send her a card. Luckily, the color challenge at the Create with Connie and Mary blog inspired me to make a card for her!
I started with a Real Red card base and added a Basic Black mat. I stamped the splatter stamp from the “Awesomely Artistic” stamp set in Smoky Slate randomly onto a Whisper White Panel.
Next, I stamped the floral hexagon from the “Six-Sided Sampler” set in Real Red, Smoky Slate, and Basic Black Archival Ink onto Whisper White scraps. I punched these out with the Hexagon Punch and adhered them across the Whisper White Panel. I added the sentiment from the “Build a Birthday” set in Real Red. Finally, I tied a length of Real Red 1/4″ Cotton Ribbon onto the bottom of the card.
Quick and easy and I think Susan will like it–even if it’s a little late!

Love that you used the floral hexagon repeatedly in these colors – it creates a nice path for the eye to follow to the greeting. Very sweet birthday card! Thanks for joining us at Create with Connie and Mary!
