#stampinup The Paper Pal Arts challenge blog is another that I recently discovered. I found this blog because I follow the fabulous Mary Fish and she often plays along in this challenge. This week’s challenge is a sketch challenge. Since I’m still bringing birthdays back, I decided to make a birthday card and to use the sweetly subtle
Birthday Bouquet Designer Series Paper available in the Occasions
catalog.
I started with a Mint Macaron panel of the Birthday Bouquet DSP and adhered it to a Mint Macaron mat. I adhered this assembly with Stampin’ Dimensionals to a Soft Suede card base, cut lengthwise.
I stamped the “happy birthday” sentiment from the “Party Wishes” set in Mint Macaron onto a 2″x3″ piece of Whisper White Card Stock. I adhered this to a slightly larger piece of Blushing Bride Card Stock.
I used two other sheets of Birthday Bouquet DSP to add the contrasting strip in the middle of the panel and a thin banner on top. I flagged the end with the Banner Punch. I added a bit of Tea Lace Paper Doily to the edge of these pieces, according to the sketch.
I punched two hearts with the Sweetheart Punch from Blushing Bride. I added the sentiment and the hearts to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. For a final touch, I added two Blushing Bride Candy Dots to the hearts.
Soft and subtle isn’t usually my style, but I love these sweet colors together!
