#stampinup This week’s challenge at the Create with Connie and Mary blog is a color challenge. “Cool,” I thought when I saw it. “The colors are the same as those in my favorite Going Place Designer Series Paper Pack. This should be easy.” Uh-oh! I had a little trouble pulling something together. I’m not too sure I succeeded, but sometimes you just have to cut bait (after 3 or 4 tries).
I actually really love these colors together. I’m not sure why I had so much trouble.
Anyway, I settled on adhering a piece of Delightful Dijon DSP directly to the Delightful Dijon card base. I almost never do that, but I like the way this combination looks. Then I cut a 3-7/8″ square of Lost Lagoon card stock and ran it through the Big Shot in the World Traveler Embossing Folder. I adhered this to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I added a 3/4″ strip of Lost Lagoon DSP from the same DSP pack for a little more interest and texture.
Next, I stamped the sentiment in Lost Lagoon onto a Sahara Sand scrap and cut it out with one of the stars from the Stars Framelits Collection. I also cut a small star from the DSP. And I punched a tiny star from the DSP using one of the Itty Bitty Accents Punch Pack punches. I adhered the stars to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
In the end, the card was pretty easy to make–it just took me a while to get to a design that I liked!

A great card Kathy – that embossed centrepiece in blue makes a real statement and I love the stars and sentiment that accompany it. So frustrating when you can't get your ideas out as you imagined them, however this card totally works for me – we of course always our own harshest critics! Thanks for joining us over at Create With Connie and Mary this week!
