#stampinup #faithfulinkspirations #creationstation Just a little over a month ago, Stampin’ Up released the new 2018-2019 Annual Catalog with loads of new stamps and products. Probably the biggest news was a Color Revamp. We said a fond farewell to some retiring colors and a hearty hello to some awesome new colors–and we said hello, again, to some returning favorite colors!! In honor of Stampin’ Up’s Color Revamp, the Creation Station design team is sharing our favorite color combinations on our July blog hop projects.
If I’m perfectly honest, my favorite color combination is Basic Black and any other color or colors. So, I have three cards that use my favorite neutral along with some fun color combinations.
Up first is a card that uses two new colors, a returning color, and an in-color. Did you spot them all? I stamped the vases from the “Varied Vases” stamp set in Mango Melody (new), Highland Heather (new), and Coastal Cabana (returning) onto Whisper White Card Stock and punched them out with the Vases Builder Punch. I stamped the two floral images and the stem of the middle flower in Crumb Cake. I colored the flowers in Lovely Lipstick (2018-19 In Color) using an Aqua Painter. I stamped the tulip in Crumb Cake ink onto a Highland Heather Card Stock scrap and punched it out with the Vases Builder Punch.
The
sentiment and border are stamped in Highland Heather Ink onto a 3-3/4″
by 5″ Whisper White panel. I adhered this to a 3-7/8″ by 5-1/8″ Coastal
Cabana mat and then onto a 4″ by 5-1/4″ Basic Black mat. I wrapped a
length of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon around the mats before adhering
them to a Highland Heather Card Stock card base.
Finally, I adhered the punched vases and tulip to the card using both regular and Mini Stampin’ Dimensionals.
My second card uses punched images from the Vases Builder Punch, with minimum stamping.
I punched three vases from Blueberry Bushel (2018-19 In Color), a Poppy Parade (returning), and Granny Apple Green (new) Card Stock. I also punched two sprays of leaves from Granny Apple Green Card Stock using the Leaf Punch. I cut a Whisper White Card Stock circle with one of the Stitched Shapes Framelits, stamped “hello” from the “Varied Vases” stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black, and adhered it to a Basic Black Card Stock scalloped circle that I cut with one of the Layering Circles Framelits. I embossed a 3-3/4″ by 5″ Whisper White Card Stock Panel with the Layered Leaves Embossing Folder and adhered that to a 3-7/8″ by 5-1/8″ Basic Black Card Stock panel.
I wrapped a length of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon (are you sensing a them here?) around these pieces before adhering everything to a Granny Apple Green Card Stock card base.
I adhered the circles element to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals and tucked in a couple of sprays of punched leaves. I adhered the punched vases to the circle with a variety of Mini and regular Stampin’ Dimensionals.
To finish the card, I drew a stem in one of the vases with a Basic Black Stampin’ Write Marker and adhered a Poppy Parade tulip that I punched with the Vases Builder Punch.
My final card might be my favorite of the day. It’s fun and funky. Take a look!
I used the Vases Builder Punch to punch out a bunch of So Saffron, Mint Macaron (returning), and Balmy Blue (new) Card Stock vases. I adhered these to a 3-3/4″ by 5″ Whisper White Card Stock panel. I just ran a line of Snail Adhesive down the Card Stock and adhered the vases. I can hear you asking: Didn’t that leave a sticky mess between the vases? Why, yes it did! So I cut a 3-3/4″ by 5″ piece of Vellum Card Stock and adhered it to the card with strategically placed (behind the ribbon) Glue Dots. I adhered this to a 3-7/8″ by 5″ Balmy Blue Card Stock mat.
You’ll never guess what I did next! I wrapped a length of Basic Black Shimmer Ribbon around these pieces and adhered them to a Basic Black Card Stock card base.
Next, I stamped the “fireworks” image from the “Birthday Backgrounds” stamp set onto Whisper White Card Stock in So Saffron, Mint Macaron, and Balmy Blue Ink. I stamped a sentiment from the “Picture Perfect Birthday” stamp set in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto this piece and then cut it out with one of the Layering Ovals Framelits. I adhered this to a Balmy Blue Card Stock scalloped oval cut with another Layering Oval Framelit.
To finish the card, I adhered the sentiment piece with Stampin’ Dimensionals and added two Basic Black dots from the Best Route Enamel Dots.
