Hey everybody! It’s time for another Creation Station blog hop and we have a fun theme this month! The challenge given to the design team is “rainbow rearrange” and we are rethinking, reimagining, flipping, or recoloring the traditional rainbow. Now the obvious choice for this challenge would be to use the “Rainbow of Happiness” bundle on page 18 of the January to June mini catalog. But I don’t have that bundle and I never like to be “obvious.” So, I went in a completely different direction.
I used the “Nothing is Better Than” stamp set to create a non-traditional rainbow of coffee cups! My first card uses Pumpkin Pie, Cinnamon Cider, Cajun Craze, Mango Melody, Daffodil Delight, and So Saffron to create my non-traditional rainbow.
I stamped the coffee cup outline in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink onto scraps of these colors and used the matching Love You More Than die to cut out each of the cups. I used my Stamparatus to stamp the two-toned, three-stamp sentiment in Cajun Craze and Early Espresso Inks onto the corner of a 3-3/4″ by 5″ So Saffron Cardstock panel. I then ran that through my Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine with the Tasteful Textile 3D Embossing Folder. I adhered that to a 4″ by 5-1/Thread around the middle before adhering to a Cajun Craze Card Stock card base.
Using Stampin’ Dimensionals, I stacked the coffee cups onto the card. And I finished the card by adding some Artistry Blooms Self-Adhesive Sequins to the card. Those embellishments are like magic–they match everything!
I made a second card with another non-traditional set of “rainbow” colors in neutrals. This time I used Smoky Slate, Gray Granite, Basic Gray, Soft Suede, Early Espresso, Crumb Cake, and Sahara Sand Card Stock. As with the first card, each cup is stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black Ink and cut out with the Love You More Than Die. The sentiment is stamped in Soft Suede and Early Espresso Inks.
I build this card the same way as the first card: the top panel is Very Vanilla, the mat is Basic Black, and the card base is Early Espresso. For this card, I used my favorite Classic Matte Dots for embellishments.
I hope you enjoyed my rearranged rainbows. I know you’ll love what the rest of the design team has in store for you. Use the next button to go to Elizabeth’s blog and continue hopping around the world to be dazzled by our rearranged rainbows!
