If you’ve been reading my blog (thank you!), you’ll know that in recent days I’ve shared two of my three designs for my annual Christmas card stamp-a-stack. For Christmas in August, we created this Winterly Birds card using the Nests of Winter Suite from Stampin’ Up’s upcoming (September 4) mini catalog.
Start with a Cherry Cobbler Card Stock card base. Next, cut a piece of Early Espresso Card Stock to 4″ by 5-1/4″ and use the pine frame die from the Winterly Tree Tops bundle to cut out the frame. Cut a 4″ by 5-1/4″ piece of Crumb Cake Card Stock and emboss it with the Birch Wood 3D Embossing Folder. Adhere the Early Espresso frame to the embossed Crumb Cake piece and then use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere this assembly to the card front.
Select a bird image from the Nests of Winter Designer Series Paper and fussy cut it using Paper Snips. (NOTE: Two of the bird images can be cut with the Winterly Tree Tops dies, instead.) Adhere the DSP birds to your card with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Stamp a sentiment from the Greetings of the.Season stamp set in Cherry Cobbler onto Crumb Cake Card Stock and punch it out with the Hexagon Punch. Adhere this to the card front with Dimensionals. (NOTE: If your birds face to the right, put them on the left of the card and the sentiment label on the right. If the birds face to the left, put them on the right of the card and the sentiment on the left.)
Finish the card by adding three Earth Tone Shimmer gems–any of the colors will coordinate. Cut an 8″ length of Natural Tones Linen Thread, tie in a bow, and adhere to the card, as shown.
Please see my YouTube video with the assembly instructions for all three Christmas in August cards, including this Winterly Birds card.
Post will be updated to add supply list after the September-December Mini Catalog goes live!
