Stampin’ Up has quite a few stamp sets that fit the March Creation Station theme of “Sweet Delights & Sugared Dreams.” Unfortunately, I don’t own any of them. But never fear: I’ve come up with a great project that fills the bill–a springtime window bag filled with sweet delights!
This bag was super easy to make using instructions from former demonstrator Barb Reed (aka The Wexford Stamper). For my project, I used the gorgeous Delightful Floral Designer Series Paper that’s available as an online exclusive. The box is created with one 8.5″ by 11″ sheet of Berry Burst Card Stock. PROTIP: When you’ve cut the card stock down to the starting size of 10″ by 7.5″ inches, save the strips to make the belly band! And when you cut out the window portion, save that for the tag!
Speaking of the tag, I stamped the sentiment from Charming Sentiments stamp set in Versamark, sprinkled on Silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder, and set it with my Heat Tool. Then I cut the tag with one of the Nested Essentials Dies.
The closure at the top of the bag is genius! Use one of your cast-off 1″ strip of card stock to make a belly band that slips over the bag’s opening to hold it shut. Wrap your ribbon–I used the Silver & White Sheer Ribbon–around the belly band, slipping the tag onto the ribbon, and then tie a pretty bow. The belly band-ribbon-tag element slips right off the top of the bag!
The bag is made with side gussets so that the bag can be filled with sweets and closed at the top.
I used a rectangle Nested Essentials Die to make the window opening. I had to fold over the bag template in order to run it through the Stampin’ Cut and Emboss Machine. It would be way easier to use one of Stampin’ Up’s punches–I suggest one of the circle punches, like the Decorative Circle Punch.
I can’t wait to see what the rest of the Design Team has come up with this month. Next up on the blog hop is the amazing Yvonne Spikmans-Van Bruggen. And you can also follow our hop on Instagram; start with me @kkstamper.
