Spring is springing here in Maryland and the trees are in bloom. We have flowering cherry and plum trees in our yard and a spinner magnolia tree whose blooms are magnificent! Without planning it, I’ve created a card that resembles our blooming trees–and that fits the Creation Station theme of heat embossing. I’ve used the retiring 2022-2024 In Colors along with two retiring stamp sets to create this card.
Who knew the Bottled Happiness stamp set would yield such a springtime card?! This design came together serendipitously–I honestly didn’t plan it. Don’t you love it when that happens? I cut 1-1/4″ by 3-3/4″ strips of Tahitian Tide, Sweet Sorbet, Orchid Oasis, and Parakeet Party Card Stock. I used the same ink on each strip to randomly stamp the spray of leaves. I used my Heat Tool to make sure the ink was dry before stamping each strip with the floral arrangement in Versamark, rotating the stamp so that a different part was stamped on each strip. Then I sprinkled on White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat set the design.
Next, I adhered the strips to a 3-7/8″ by 5-1/8″ Basic White panel and then adhered everything to a 4″ by 5-1/4″ Starry Sky mat. I used Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere this to a Thick Basic White Card Stock card base.
I stamped the sentiment from the Charming Sentiments stamp set in Versamark onto Starry Sky Card Stock and used White Stampin’ Emboss Powder and heat-set the sentiment. I cut it out with one of the (not retiring!) Nested Essentials Dies. A big bow of Starry Sky Metallic Woven Ribbon is adhered it to the back of the sentiment piece which is attached to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. To finish the card, I added a few 2022-2024 In Color Pearls.
I’m always a little sad when supplies retire–but Stampin’ Up always has NEW things to take their place so my sadness is short-lived. If you want to get the retiring In Colors, you should act quickly because they typically sell out fast! You can shop my Stampin’ Up store by clicking the product thumbnails below.
Next up is the fabulous Mikaela Titheridge, a Stampin’ Up Artisan who WOWED us with her stamping presentation at the OnStage event that demonstrators recently attended!
