Every year I host a Christmas card stamp-a-stack session in August, September, October and November. My guests leave with 48 cards ready to address and send before Thanksgiving! For August’s session, I used products from Stampin’ Up’s annual catalog, from their Online Exclusives, and from the upcoming (September 4) mini catalog. In today’s blog, I’ll show you the Christmas in August card that I made (mostly) with supplies from the Annual Catalog, including Winter Meadow Designer Series Paper!
Start by stamping a sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set in Versamark Ink onto a Smoky Slate Card Stock card base. Sprinkle on silver Stampin’ Emboss Powder and set with your Heat Tool.
Next, cut a 4″ by 4″ piece of Smoky Slate card stock; three 3-7/8″ by 1-1/4″ strips of Lost Lagoon card stock; and three 3-5/8″ by 1-1/8″ strips of Winter Meadow DSP. Adhere the DSP strips to the Lost Lagoon strips. Then, adhere one assembled strip to the Smoky Slate square, ensuring that there is the same amount of Smoky Slate Card Stock showing at the top, bottom, and side of the assembled strip. Adhere the second assembled strip to the opposite side of the Smoky Slate square, again ensuring the top, bottom, and side show the same amount of Smoky Slate. Finally, adhere the last assembled strip to the center.
Cut a 5″ strip of White and Silver Sheer Ribbon. Wrap it around the front of the assembled square and adhere about 1/4″ at the back. Use Stampin’ Dimensionals to adhere this piece to the card front.
Cut one large and one small pine frond frond Garden Green card stock using the Golden Greenery Dies. Adhere these to the front of the card, slipping the end under the ribbon, as shown. You can use the adhesive of your choice for this step (Stampin’ Dimensionals, Multi-Purpose Glue, or Mini Glue Dots).
Cut a 4″ strip of White and Silver Sheer Ribbon, tuck it under the ribbon at the front of the card, and tie it into a single knot. Trim the ends.
Finally, add a group of three Pearl Adhesive Backed Berries to the pine fronds and to the card front, as shown, Add one Pearl Berry to the card front.
