One of the best things (among the hundreds of best things) about being a Stampin’ Up demonstrator is the opportunity to attend in-person events. Not only are these events fun and inspiring, they’re also filled with giveaways. At the Houston OnStage event, all participants received the new Leaf Collection background stamp. Of course you can use the stamp as a background, but I decided to use it differently.
For this card, I stamped the image three times onto Basic White, once in Old Olive, and then Mossy Meadow, and finally Calypso Coral Ink. Then I fussy cut the various leaves. I know some people groan at the thought of fussy cutting, but I find it relaxing. After I cut out the leaves, I arranged them on a Basic White panel and adhered them with Stampin’ Dimensionals.
Next, I used a Mossy Meadow Stampin’ Blend to color a length of White Bakers Twine. I ran a paper towel along the length of the twine until I was sure the color wouldn’t transfer to the Basic White panel. Then I wrapped it around the panel and adhered the panel to a Calypso Coral card base.
The sentiment is from the Attention Shoppers set and stamped in Memento Tuxedo Black onto a Basic White strip. I tore the edge of a piece of Calypso Coral Card Stock and adhered it to the back of the sentiment strip and then adhered this piece to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. I add a few Blooming Pearls to finish the card.
