OK, OK, I know it’s the dead of winter, but Stampin’ Up! has just released it’s new January-April 2024 mini catalog and if you’re a beach lover the Beach Day bundle is perfect for you! I originally purchased this bundle to use for a birthday card stamp-a-stack that I hosted because it has a birthday sentiment. And then when my fellow demonstrator, Connie Heisey, asked me to demonstrate at her new catalog virtual meeting, I volunteered to use this bundle.
When your task is to create 10 cards with the same bundle, you need to think outside the box to make sure you show a variety of ways to use the products. So I came up with this beach volleyball scene.
To make the sky, I created a mask by cutting a piece of cardstock with the Beach Day die that’s used to create the undulating sand and used a Blender Brush to apply Pool Party Ink to a Basic White panel. Then I also added some Crumb Cake Ink for the sand. I cut out the scene with one of the Nested Essentials Dies–they really are essential. I love them!
Next, I die-cut two of the fences from Gray Granite Cardstock and trimmed one to stack on top, forming a (reasonable facsimile of a) volleyball net. I stamped and colored the beachball image to look like a volleyball.
I also wanted to showcase a couple of products that can be earned for FREE (with a qualifying purchase) during Sale-a-Bration, so I embossed a Pool Party panel with the Softly Sophisticated Embossing Folder and tied on a length of the yummy Pool Party Crinkle Ribbon. Don’t miss that ribbon in the Sale-a-Bration catalog. I didn’t see it the first time through!
An embossed sentiment cut with a Stylish Shapes banner die finishes the card.
