In the final installment of cards that I designed for my September Christmas card stamp-a-stack, I present the Hanging Ornaments card. I fell in love with Stampin’ Up’s Hang An Ornament stamp set and matching dies as soon as I saw it. It’s similar to this card that I made with the Hooray for Surprises stamps and dies because it allows you to create cards that reveal a surprise. Alas, my Hanging Ornaments card doesn’t have a surprise element, but it’s pretty cute, nonetheless.
I used the fun Take A Bow Designer Series Paper to cut out the ornaments and Gold Foil Sheets for the teeny tiny ornament toppers. (PROTIP: Keep a good eye on that teeny tiny ornament topper die. It has a tendency to get lost. #askmehowiknow)
I embossed a 3-3/4″ by 5″ piece of Basic White Card Stock with the Forever Plaid 3D Embossing folder and adhered it to a 4″ by 5-1/4″ piece of Real Red Card Stock. To hang the Hanging Ornaments, I cut several lengths of green Natural Tones Linen Thread from the Nests of Winter Suite and adhered one end of each to the back of the layered pieces. I brought the Linen Thread to the front and tacked it down with a bit of Stampin’ Seal Adhesive before I adhered the three ornaments to the card with Stampin’ Dimensionals. Then I adhered this assembly to a Thick Basic White Card Stock card base using Dimensionals.
To finish the card, I stamped a sentiment from the Greetings of the Season stamp set using Garden Green Ink onto a Basic White Card Stock scrap and cut it out with one of the dies from that bundle. I adhered the sentiment piece to the card front with Stampin’ Dimensionals, tucking it under one of the Hanging Ornaments. I used Multipurpose Liquid Glue to adhere the gold toppers to each ornament and then I added three gold Natural Adhesive-Backed Sequins to the card. Pretty cute, huh?
I hope you’ve enjoyed the September Christmas stamp-a-stack cards and I hope you’ll visit my YouTube page where you can watch me assemble them. Please leave a comment here or on the YouTube channel. I love reading them!
